Green Door Guest House is situated in a quiet area on the main street of Mossel Bay yet in the centre of the town, with views of the blue bay, small harbor and Outeniqua mountain range. The guest house was built as a family home for the Will Matthews family in the early 1900s. A modern wing was added onto the old sandstone home in such a way that it does not spoil the beautiful stone building but adds a modern charm and quality to the beautiful old house. This is complimented by the original wooden floors of the old house, as well as by the charming on-site restaurant and viewing deck, from which beautiful sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed. The original house was restored by the current owner in 2006 and received the blue seal accolade.
