Huijs te Marquest was a Dutch ship that was nearly wrecked in the area after the mast cracked. A local farmer rushed to Cape Town to report the incident and was reward with the first government awarded farm. After two ships were sent to repair the mast, both unsuccessfully, Huijs te Marquette sailed to Cape Town with a cracked mast and no support.
On site we have facilities like a warm wooded honesty bar, communal fireplace, BBQ and pool. Within walking distance we have many fine dining and family restaurants, the town centre, the famous Point area with beaches and surfing spots and several tourist attractions.
