Kayak River Fishing
Duration:
5 hour(s) - Location:
Mossel Bay
Fish the Little Brak River or Gouritz River from a kayak using locally collected live bait and artificial bait (lures/rapalas) for game fish. The rivers are virtually wind free, the waters quiet with no risk of motion sickness and the natural beauty and birdlife spectacular. This tranquil half day for serious fisherman and families alike, with bottom fishing and/or trawling with artificial- or live bait for the stronger game fish is hard to beat for pleasure. We meet at the river (directions will be given) or we collect you from your accommodation in time to fish or earlier, should you join us for bait collection. Learn about the estuary life and bait options while collecting before you try to catch game fish.
Itinerary
on this page
Meet us at the launch site where we will have the boat ready, the bait collected and the gear set up for your experience or join us 90 minutes before departure at the launch site for bait collection.
After a short on board safety briefing, we set off and find the fish. We might drift or anchor and spend time bottom fishing with a few rods with live bait in the water. Alternatively, we trawl slowly with live bait and artificial bait (rapala / lures at an additional cost) which improves the chances of catching the stronger and faster game fish.
