The Tradouw valley is famous for its tranquillity, wine industry, dairy and farming, fruit production and Barrydale with its famous Tradouw pass. Sandy's Place is in the main street and is equally famous on the wine route, R62.
Getting there
From Oudtshoorn, follow R62 towards Cape Town until you find Barrydale. Turn left off R62 into Tinley Street and follow downhill. Sandy's Place is 200m down on the corner of the second intersection.
From the N1 turn onto R60 that becomes R62 and follow through Montagu to Barrydale. Turn into Barrydale (Van Riebeeck Street) and follow until you find Sandy's Place.
From Cape Town follow the N2 past Swellendam. 11km past Swellendam turn left onto R324, follow through Suurbraak, Tradouw Pass, and at the T-junction turn right towards Barrydale. Turn right into Barrydale and follow Van Riebeeck Street until you find Sandy's Place.
